About me
Just like you, I faced many challenges trying to find myself, my truth, my path. Thinking that external success would bring me happiness, I completed a degree in Business Administration, had a successful career in a huge oil company, decided to quit, went travelling, worked for Greenpeace, volunteered longer term in Thailand after the 2004 tsunami, became a hippie, became a “light dancer” and after all that I still didn’t find the answers I was looking for.
It was when I encountered Tibetan Buddhism in 2005 that life started to make sense. Since then I have engaged in formal Buddhist studies, training and meditation and graduated from a Master Programme in Tibetan Buddhist Philosophy. Have also completed several retreats, including solitary retreats at Lawudo Gompa, a remote hermitage in the Himalayas in Nepal.
My main teachers are His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama, H.E. Ling Rinpoche, who blessed this website and Kyabje Lama Zopa Rinpoche, from whom I received my Buddhist nun ordination in 2014 and the name Thubten Khadro.
I have served the FPMT, an International Buddhist Organization for over 21 years in various roles and in different countries, including the manager of a Buddhist Hospice in New Zealand, the spiritual coordinator of Kopan Monastery in Nepal, the Resident Teacher at Yeshin Norbu Center in Sweden.
As an FPMT registered Buddhist teacher, I have led various courses & retreats in person and online for New Zealand, Australia, Sweden, Finland, Germany, Colombia, Mexico, Spain, USA, India and Nepal. I’m also a qualified Buddhist Chaplain and an accredited Foundation for Developing Compassion and Wisdom facilitator.
